After Care

Achieving a beautifully healed tattoo is a collaborative effort between both the artist and the client.

Below are essential tips for preparing and caring for your new brows. If you have any questions or concerns that aren't addressed here, please feel free to reach out.

Days 1 - 4:

  1. Keep your brows dry for the first 24 hours.

  2. Wet a piece of paper towel with warm water and a pump of the cleanser that is provided to you and gently blot/press it over each brow to absorb and clean away any lymph, oil, or sweat.

  3. Repeat the blotting with a dry paper towel to remove any remaining moisture.

  4. Allow your brows to air dry for 2 minutes.

  5. Apply a rice grain-sized amount of the provided balm across both brows.

  6. For dry skin, apply balm 1-2 times per day. For normal/combination skin, apply balm once per day or every other day. For oily skin, apply balm once every two days.

  7. Be mindful not to over or under moisturise; assess daily and maintain minimal hydration. If balm builds up, you've applied too much.

  8. Your brows may appear larger and darker at this stage, which is normal. Trust the process!

  9. Keep your brows completely dry except for the blotting steps until the flaking/peeling stops.

Days 5 - 9:

  1. During this period, your brows will start to flake and peel, similar to a mild sunburn. Some itchiness is normal.

  2. It’s very important that there is no picking or scratching. Let the skin naturally shed for optimal retention.

  3. Apply a small amount of balm as needed, being careful not to disrupt the healing process.

Day 10+:

  1. After the flaking has stopped, your brows may feel softer and less prominent. This is normal, as the skin will continue to heal for 6-8weeks in the deeper layers.

  2. You can apply a small amount of balm every few days if desired.

Important Reminders:

  • No makeup or products on or near your new tattoo for 10 days.

  • Only use the provided aftercare balm.

  • Be gentle when washing your face and showering, keeping your brows as dry as possible.

  • Let your tattoo heal naturally in its own time.

Avoid the Following During Healing:

  • Scratching, picking, or touching dry skin or flakiness.

  • Direct water on your tattoo and the use of soaps (other than the cleanser you are provided) or heavy creams. Clean around the area using a clean cloth or oil-free makeup wipe.

  • Activities that cause heavy sweating on the tattooed area for 10 days.

  • Swimming pools, hot tubs, or other large bodies of water for 14 days.

  • High UV exposure, including tanning beds.

  • Laser light therapy, as it can affect the pigment.

  • Exfoliants, retinol acids, or AHA’s on the area for 30 days after the appointment, as this may lead to premature fading.

  • Massages, facials, or skin treatments on or near the area for 14 days.

Long-Term Care:

  • Cosmetic tattooing can last 1-5 years depending on lifestyle, skin type, and aftercare.

  • Protect your brows from excessive sun exposure and tanning beds to prevent premature fading and pigment discolouration.

  • Apply sunscreen on your healed tattoos once they're completely healed.

  • Avoid using chemical exfoliants on tattoos, as they can cause fading.

  • Makeup application may still be necessary post-tattoo for your desired look.

  • Yearly touch-ups with your original artist are recommended to maintain your best results.
